Guide to chantpourtous.com
Welcome to chantpourtous.com, the site dedicated to sharing all possible information about Chant pour tous (free a cappella vocal improvisation events open to everyone), happening all around the world!
For those who want to discover, learn about, and/or take part in a Chant pour tous:
This site offers:
- A calendar and list of upcoming events in various places, with all the information you need, the ability to register if necessary, and the option to ask questions in the comments.
- Over 140 articles about Chant pour tous! We especially recommend a selection of about ten key articles, which we’ve gathered for you.
- A world map of regular Chant pour tous (very likely not up to date—like any good map!), so you can quickly see if there’s one near you.
- Around twenty community pages with lots of information about these local “communities” (history, newsletters, links to other platforms, contact info, etc).
- Around thirty newsletters, including a global monthly one, but more importantly, many local newsletters so you can stay updated about Chant pour tous in your city, department, or region.
All of this is available for free and without even needing to create an account.
However, if you use the site regularly, we strongly encourage you to create an accountand log in while browsing!
In addition to accessing features like creating events or articles, this will make it easier for you to register for events, comment, and more — improving your experience while also helping facilitators and our team. (For example, you’ll be able to edit or cancel your event registrations by yourself if needed.)
For those who want to organize or lead Chant pour tous:
First of all, before publishing anything on or via the site (event, article, or newsletter), please read our publication guidelines!
This site offers you tools to:
- Publish your events, to help share your Chant pour tous — or simply to grow the number of visible events on the site! If there’s a community page that includes the city or region where your events take place, please make sure to add the correct tag (see the tutorial).
- Manage participant registrations, send messages to attendees, etc.
(If you’d rather not use this feature, you can disable it and handle registrations by email — or choose not to manage them at all.)
- Send newsletters using an existing local newsletter.
If you’ve never done this before, you’ll need to request access via the contact form.
We will grant you access to this functionality which is currently restricted by default for security reasons.
- Add yourself to the global map (if you lead events regularly).
- Create a community page, which you can manage on your own or with other facilitators.
- Create a new local newsletter, which site users can subscribe to — you’ll then be able to message them as you like.
Just like with newsletters, these last three actions require you to contact the website team first.
Who are we?
It’s important to distinguish the concept of Chant pour tous, which belongs to no one, from this site, which is managed voluntarily by a small team of passionate people:
Anne-Lise Farioli, Aurélien Métral, Gaël Aubrit, and Jessalynn Choby take turns replying to messages, moderating, assisting facilitators, writing articles, sending the monthly newsletter, and managing the Instagram page, Facebook page, and Facebook group linked to the site.
And behind the scenes, our wonderful webmaster Ludovic Guéroult brilliantly handles all the technical aspects!
How much does it cost?
This site costs €450 per year to run: hosting: €230, newsletter services: €200, anti-spam protection: €20
If all goes well, this amount is 100% funded by donations from facilitators and participants who feel inspired and able to contribute.
Donations may be collected during Chant pour tous events, given directly to a team member, or sent online (via bank transfer, PayPal, or card) by clicking here: Support us financially
Acknowledgments
To the people who contributed to the creation of this site — a big thank you:
- Camille Pascal, who was part of the website’s team for many years and played an active role in its development, notably by writing numerous guides and key articles.
- David Mercereau, Ludovic’s predecessor, who built the first version of the site in 2015 and worked tirelessly on it for five years. Eternal gratitude!
- Julien Montet, who created our logo (you can download and use it freely for your Chant pour tous), and our original visual identity.
- Cyril Artur, who spent countless hours in 2013 reflecting on this project and developing the first draft of the website.
And of course, thank you to all the facilitators who create these beautiful spaces for collective singing, and all the participants who come and let their voices dance.
We hope this site is useful to you!
